Finding Beauty in the Simple Things

I hope you had a beautiful Easter and were able to spend a little time reflecting on what the day truly means.

Easter always brings with it such a mix of emotions for me. There is joy, gratitude, reflection, and a quiet reminder to slow down and remember why we celebrate in the first place. In the middle of all the family gatherings, the food, the spring weather, and the traditions, I always find myself wanting to pause and sit with the deeper meaning of it all.

I hope your day was filled with some of that too.

This year, our boys from Texas were not able to make the trip, so we missed getting to spend Easter with sweet Julianna for her very first one. That definitely tugged at my heart. There is something about missing the little firsts that stings a little extra.

But even with that, we were so thankful to spend time here on the ranch with two of our other kids, along with my brother and his family. Most of his kids and grandkids were there too, with the exception of one who is currently deployed to Poland with the Army. We were also surprised by my nephew making a trip up from Texas Tech, where he graduates next month. That made the day feel even more special.

It was one of those full family days. The kind that feels noisy, warm, a little chaotic, and deeply meaningful all at once.

And those are often the days that stay with you.

The Beauty of the People Who Are There

Holidays have a way of making you aware of both things at once:
the sweetness of who is present, and the ache of who is missing.

That is part of life, isn’t it?

Families grow. Kids move. Schedules get complicated. Work and distance and responsibilities pull people in different directions. And while you may not always get everyone around the same table, you learn to treasure the moments when you do get to gather.

This Easter reminded me of that again.

There is such beauty in the people who are there.
In the conversations.
In the laughter.
In the last-minute surprises.
In the meal shared.
In the moments that are simple enough to miss if you are not paying attention.

Sometimes the most meaningful days are not the most elaborate ones. They are the ones where you stop long enough to notice how much goodness is sitting right in front of you.

A New Home Find I’m Excited About

On the home front, I’m also really excited to share something new with you.

We recently started a new Shopify Collective partnership with Mobaak Aromatherapy Shoppe, and we are now offering a selection of their candles, diffusers, and home fragrance mists on our website inside a new collection called Curated Home Finds.

This feels like such a natural next step for us.

You all know how much I love beautiful things for the home, and I also love sharing finds that feel thoughtful, elevated, and worth bringing into your space. My hope is that this partnership will be the beginning of offering even more carefully selected home products from trusted partners we love.

I would love for this part of the business to continue to grow so we can bring in even more beautiful home decor finds in the future.

I personally purchased the Palo Santo Candle, and I have been loving it. It has such a warm, grounding scent, and it makes a room feel cozy almost instantly.

I’ve been using it with my candle warmer lamp, which is one of my favorite little home items. I have several of these lamps throughout my home and have gifted them to quite a few family members too. They are practical, pretty, and just make a space feel a little more special.

There is something about those little home details that can shift the whole feeling of a room. A good scent, soft lighting, a pretty lamp, a candle warming in the background. They may seem small, but they often create the kind of atmosphere people remember.

The Simple Things Really Do Matter

That was probably the theme of this whole week for me.

The simple things matter.

A meaningful holiday.
Time with family.
The ones who show up.
A surprise visit.
A favorite candle.
A home that feels warm.
A new song playing in the background.
A small corner of the house refreshed for spring.

None of those things are huge on their own.
But together, they create a life that feels full.

I think sometimes we overlook the simple things because they do not feel dramatic enough. They do not make a big entrance. They are not always flashy or impressive. But they are often the very things that make a home feel lovely and a life feel rich.

And honestly, I think many of us are craving more of that.

Not more noise.
Not more pressure.
Not more clutter.

Just more beauty in the everyday.

What I’m Listening To

Last week I shared a Brandon Lake song I had on repeat, and apparently I’m still in that phase because now I have another one.

A new song just dropped with Brandon Lake and Lainey Wilson, and I’ve already added it to the current repeat list. There is just something about the right song at the right time. Sometimes music has a way of saying what your heart has been trying to put into words.

It can lift your mood, settle your mind, or just become the soundtrack to a season you want to remember.

And this week, that has definitely been one of those little joys for me.

One Simple Spring Refresh Tip

If you have been wanting to freshen your home for spring without feeling like you need to redo everything, here is one simple tip:

Pick one small area and refresh just that.

Not the whole house.
Not every room.
Not a giant makeover that leaves you regretting your life choices halfway through.

Just one space.

Maybe it is your entry table.
Maybe it is the kitchen counter.
Maybe it is a bedside table, mantel, bathroom tray, or console.

Swap in a few lighter, softer touches:
a candle,
a small arrangement,
a pretty bowl,
a seasonal accent,
or even just a small change in color or texture.

Sometimes the easiest way to make your home feel fresh again is not to do more. It is to choose one spot and give it a little attention.

A little change can go a long way.

A Quiet Reminder After Easter

I think that is part of what I’m carrying with me after Easter this year.

A reminder to notice.
A reminder to be grateful.
A reminder that beauty often lives in the simple things.

The big moments matter, of course. But so do the smaller ones. The quiet ones. The ones that do not look especially important from the outside but end up meaning the most.

A family table.
A surprise visit.
A good candle.
A favorite song.
A home that feels peaceful.
A season of life that reminds you to pay attention.

There is so much beauty tucked into ordinary days if we will slow down enough to see it.

And maybe that is one of the loveliest things Easter leaves behind after the weekend is over. A softened heart. A deeper gratitude. A renewed awareness of what really matters.

That is what stayed with me this week.

And maybe that is the invitation for all of us too:
to keep making room for the simple things,
because they are often the ones that become the sweetest memories.
